Things to do in Goa:
- Take a Dive
The rich biodiversity of Goa should lure you into taking a closer look! Visit one of the dive sites located around Grande Island, and swim amongst the abundant marine life which includes several species of reef fish, hard and soft corals, as well as shipwrecks to explore. The diving season is between the months of mid-May to mid-October, the dive sites are mostly 12-18m deep, and the visibility varies through the season. The dive centers also conduct PADI courses where one can become a trained dive master.
- Spot the Dolphins
A sunset boat ride on the Arabian Sea, could also include a sight of playful dolphins jumping in and out of the water. Boats are lined up along Fort Aguada and Sinquerim every evening, where the boatmen will take you to the best spots to catch sight of these adorable animals. One may also have the opportunity to swim and play with the dolphins, provided that the necessary safety precautions are made.
- Spice Tour
Forgo the beaches for a day, and let your nostrils take a whiff of some beautiful spices. Take a walk through a plantation and learn more about the spices, which made India popular centuries ago. There are different tours operating which offer a guided walk through the plantation, a sampling of spices including the very spicy Peri Peri Pepper, followed by a farm fresh traditional Goan home cooked meal. There are also tours where one can bathe elephants, and even sit on their backs while they splash water on you.
- Cruises & Sailing in Goa
A few hours spent cruising through the waters of the ocean sounds like an experience everyone will be game for. Goa offers a variety of river cruises, at all times- during the day, at sunset, or at night, each allowing for its own set of entertainment and sights to see. Take a gamble and visit one of the several casinos in Goa. Goa is one of the few states where gambling is a legal activity, and one could have all their hands on deck with this rule. The casinos attract a lot of tourists, and one will find them always reasonably crowded. Along with regular casinos on land, Goa also has numerous casinos on board luxury liners, if you’re a high roller you’ll want to get aboard this ship!
- Cooking Classes
It’s always a good time to learn a new skill, and one can have a lot of fun while at it too! - Experience the Nightlife
The vibrant nightlife of Goa is an experience not to be missed. There are stretches of shacks and pubs where people can dance the night away, as well as easily hop from one place to another.
